I enjoy reading through her answers, so make sure you read through all of them!

Q:  What is your philosophy on business?  

A: I think to be in business for yourself means being willing to take risks, do things outside of the conventional norm and have a tremendous amount of perseverance.  You must do  what you love in life, and do it with passion I think that’s the key to inner fulfillment.  It’s also wise to recognize your strengths and get help with the rest, otherwise you hold yourself back.

Q:  What do you think is key to success in business?  

A: I think it’s being very authentic in your desire to share something with the world, and being willing to take each small step that then leads to it becoming something bigger.

Q:  My style for my place is…  
A: Currently it’s a contemporary with natural organic elements.  I’d like to switch it up to a fun, modern, Scandinavian inspired space.

Q:  Three things in my place I love…
A: Our dining room table, it’s made from a reclaimed door of a Buddhist temple, all our travel photos and my sons colorful works of art.

Q:  Favourite interior designer, decor store, and home magazine…
A: There are so many inspiring designers out there, but I particularly love the British designer Kelly Hoppen, for her exquisite interiors that are truly an art form. Also Jessica Helgerson of Portland Oregon, for her interiors that have an amazing authentic, creative quality to them.  Decor stores, it depends what you’re looking for, but I like 18 Karat for natural organic handmade pieces, Mint in the armoury district for modern fun pieces, they carry a lot of Jonathan Adler who designs really unexpected pieces for the home and Fullhouse if you’re looking for mid-century modern.  My favourite design magazine would have to be Elle Decor they feature design from around the world.
Q:  Favourite home activity…
A: I love weekend mornings, we just moved into a new house and the kitchen is filled with light and space.  We make breakfast with my son who’s 2 1/2, he loves to help, and it feels like a happy time.

Q:  Story behind the art in your place…
A: It’s mostly a collection of black and white photographs I’ve taken during my travels with my husband.  Although it was starting to feel a little bit like a gallery, so I bought a huge painting of just lines of green and yellow paint for a colour burst.

Q:  What’s your dream home like if money wasn’t a factor…
A: I adore an exterior with interesting architectural and historical elements, contrasted by a modern light filled interior with hits of energizing art and color.

Q:  Neighbourhood haunt…
A: Little nest on the drive, what can I say, our son loves it there and we actually get to finish a cup of coffee while he plays in their space set up for kids and I love they’re retro inspired interior.
Q: Currently listening to.. (3 songs)
Love the soundtrack to Cafe de Flore, Barr Brothers Beggar in the Morning, and Charlie Winston’s Like a Hobo to get me going.

Q: Splurge on….
A: Right now I have my eye on new large sphere like modern chandelier for the dining room, we have 11 foot ceilings in the dining room and it doesn’t have light fixture.

Q: What is your new years resolution?  
A:I don’t really make new years resolutions but I definitely strive for different changes at different times, this year it would be balance and organization while keeping an open mind.

Q: What is your personal motto?
A: I’ve never thought of myself as having a personal motto but if I look at what I value in myself and others it’s to be authentic, stay inspired and recognize our ability to create a life uniquely ours.

Their courtyard always reminds me of places in Europe, and their food is simply amazing. I had a fantastic time at the wedding, and I wish I could do it again. Congrats to the beautiful couple Jaclyn and Mat. Big love!

This client of ours just turned 50 and this is her second Boudoir Session with us. And she’s planning to have a session every year with us. What a great way to celebrate your body!

One thing we always point out is that you don’t have to be in a perfect body type to have your Boudoir Session done by us. Our client here is a perfect example. I love finding and bringing out the unique essence of our clients and accentuate them in the photos.  To me, the most important things I want our clients to leave with is not only great photos, but also feeling even more sexy and feeling great about themselves. And that is the comments what our clients have been telling us!

What is your philosophy on what you do?

My philosophy is to be a story teller that inspires people to be their best self and to be proud of where they live in the most entertaining and fun way possible.

What do you think is the key to success of what you do?

I would first say that I’ve managed to find something that I’m extremely passionate about and made it into a career. If it seems like work, then it’s going to be, so I’m a firm believer of pursing something you love rather than money, a title etc. If you’re truly passionate about it, then you will be successful. Once you’ve found that passion, my motto is to work hard, don’t be afraid to ask for what you want and never give into defeat.

My style is…

Feminine mixed with a bit of edge. I like mixing soft pieces with a touch of rock and roll, for example a sexy silk dress worn with a biker jacket. I am also very inspired by the late 1970’s/early 1980’s- Halston, Bill Blass, Yves Saint Laurent and Studio 54. But I have to say right now I’m obsessed with anything with leather details.

Three things in my wardrobe I love…

My new Nike Sky High Dunks, my Gold Lamé Diane von Furstenberg dress and a diamond “M” necklace that my dad give me when I turned 16.
Go-to outfit…

Well-fitted blazer, skinny dark jeans, heals and a statement necklace.

Favourite brands or designers…

So many to choose from! For high-end I am currently coveting Proenza Schouler, Alexander Wang, Erdem, and Charlotte Olympia. My favourite go-to brands are Dolce Vita, Sam Edelman, Zara, DvF, Marc by Marc Jacobs.

Story behind Mana Mansour…

Coming from a performing background with a BA in Theatre from UBC, my desire to reach out to the world and share stories brought me to the British Columbia Institute of Technology, where I completed their prestigious Broadcast Journalism Program. Since working with Shaw TV, I have been nominated for 3 Leo Awards for my work, along with winning the 2011 Notable.ca Cultural Curator Award in Canada. Prior to Shaw TV, I held broadcasting positions during the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, at CTV News Vancouver and at Entertainment Tonight Canada. Always a pop-culture junkie, I’ve had the pleasure of interviewing such stars as Seth Rogen, Chantal Kreviazuk, the cast of Degrassi, K-OS, Jully Black, and my childhood idol Jeanne Beker.

I am also a very active emcee around the community, having hosted hundreds of events, festivals and parades across Metro Vancouver including The Chinese New Year Parade, Coquitlam Canada Day, the Shaw Mini Sun Run, the Vancouver Gutsy Walk, Surrey’s Vaisakhi Parade, Pacific Centre’s Style Bar, the Crème de la Crème Grand Wedding Showcase and fashion events for The Hudson’s Bay Company.

What would you do if money wasn’t a factor…

Same thing I am doing now- on-air hosting and reporting for television.

Front and Co. and Barefoot Contessa on Main Street, in Gastown TODAY and LynnSteven, for central downtown, The Bay and Zara.

What are your passions other than what you do…

Interior Design, Dancing (I was a trained dancer for 10 years growing up), and travelling.

When Lisa, Brian, and Serendipity Event Planning contacted me to photograph their wedding at the Rock Water Secret Cove Resort, I was so excited! I absolutely love destination weddings. Without any long flight, this beautiful resort is just a ferry ride and a short drive away from Vancouver. I had an amazing time photographing the wedding along with a few of my favorite people in the wedding industry John and Matt from Capture the Moment, and DJ Wax. I also had Christine William to assist me shooting this wedding. (Thank you Christine!) The wedding was so much fun and the DJ Wax really know how to get the party started! I want to create something that I  am proud of and others love and want to share. 

What do you think is the key to success of what you do?

Work hard, really hard and reach for your ideas and goals. That leads me to my second key to success: Make Goals!!

My style for my place is…

I love a clean white space with accents of rustic woods, mirrors and lots and lots of pillows! Creating a cozy warm environment is key.

Three things in my place I love…

1) My Bed and all it’s pillows. 2) My white desk 2) The capiz shell pendants over our kitchen island. 

Favourite interior designer, decor store, and home magazine…

1)  Sarah Richardson and Stephanie Jean, 2) The Cross Decor &  Design in Yale Town 3) Style at Home,  House and Home 

Favourite home activity…

Lounging on my patio with a good book. 

Story behind the art in your place…

This always makes me laugh. The way I would decorate my home comes off pretty girly to my husband, so try to bring in some many accents as much as I can. We added a stag head and rustic wooden coffee table to lots of white cermic and mirrored furnature. I actually really like the awy it all turned out! It fits both of our tastes and we both love it! It really feels like home. 

What’s your dream home like if money wasn’t a factor…

A older white country house with gray shingles and brick accents on a big piece or property. With a large pool in the back with lots of lounge chairs for friends and familty to hang out in. Lets place it in the Hamptons too… if we’re having fun with this :) (I’m sure you can type that all into pinterest and find it!) …. okay now snapping back to reality!
