Q: What do you think is the key to success in business?

I’d say that hard work, determination and a positive attitude are super important to a successful business. When you love what you do and are honest with yourself, you can make anything happen!

Q: Role model/mentor…

My biggest role model is my mom! She is beautiful inside and out, has an amazing work ethic and is super stylish. Plus, she taught me a thing or two about hair styling (she used to be a hair stylist…). She always encouraged me to give it my all in everything I do, be independant and to always stand on my own two feet.

Q: How would you describe your personal style…

I’d say my style is vintage-chic with a twist of rock and roll! I love mixing soft, feminine pieces with edgy, masculine elements. I ALWAYS wear at least one vintage piece everyday.

I met Erik many years ago at a wedding we did together, and have been working on the same projects together since. But it’s not until early last year we started to hang out a lot more, and discovered that we share a lot of the same interests and way of thinking in art, work, and life. Occupation: I’m an wedding & event videographer and documentary filmmaker. There’s a good chance I’ll always stick to documentaries as a way of expressing myself. Real life and real people are endlessly fascinating and inspiring.

Q: What is your philosophy on business?

Work hard and create things that others enjoy and value. Avoid thinking about money and instead think about the effect your work will have on others. Focus on what you enjoy and are good at, and the rest will take care of itself.

Innovation. New is always interesting. People are always looking to define themselves in opposition to the past. So they’ll tend to be drawn to the next great idea.

When my husband and I get up in the morning, he goes downstairs to make coffee, while I shower. Our dog waits for me at the top of the stairs to walk with her down the stairs. We take each step together and I sing the wedding march song till we get to the bottom of the stairs. Our dog shows she loves it by wagging her tail and it makes my husband & I start our day by laughing.

It’s always so relaxing going up there and just enjoying the quiet scenery, the wine tasting, and the amazing food. For anyone who’s looking for an one-of-a-kind trip but doesn’t want to go out of BC, the Sunday Dinner hosted at God’s Mountain Estate is something you can’t miss!
